Greetings, Mix Tape Mixers.

Thanks for checking out the site over these past months, especially those who have been with us from the start.

A while ago, I set a deadline of when I would call it quits on Mix Tape Mix. Well, that deadline is here.

I will keep the blog open, and whoever wants to step up and start posting, leave your email address in a comment. I will be handing over admin duties to a friend, and I’ll be checking back in once in a while to see how things are going.

Noah and the Whale are a folk rock band from Twickenham, London, England formed in 2006. Their name is a marriage of the title of one of the band’s favorite films, “The Squid and the Whale,” and the name of the director (Noah Baumbach).

The band cite both punk rock and folk as influences.

Their album, “Peaceful, the World Lays me Down” has received positive reviews, and was released on August 11th.

i love this band, hope you dig them too.

Bleeding Through – Declaration (Advance)

Bleeding Through with a new album entitled Declaration, a “concept album” about the rigors of being away from home. Street date: Sept 30th.

Some of the songs are named for different cities or states, frontman Brandan Schieppati told Revolver in the magazine’s May 2008 issue. “There are definitely places when we’re traveling where every time we go there, we’re like, ‘Fuck, why do we have to be here?’ Like, we’ll be in France and all of a sudden we’ll feel totally insignificant. You get the feeling that people’s eyes are just burning a hole through you.”
